The new academic year at VU Amsterdam will kick off on Monday 31 August with the Opening Academic Year.
Roxane van Iperen will deliver this year’s keynote. Since becoming widely known with books such as ’t Hooge Nest, Eigen planeet eerst and Ik zie wat ik geloof, Van Iperen has become an established voice in public debate. There will also be contributions from Nikki Sterkenburg and Sandjai Bhulai on the theme of free thinking in an era of AI, Big Tech and increasing polarisation.
